November Catch Up

QFC Field Trip
Kelsey's preschool took a trip to QFC to learn about each department and then they got to go on a shopping trip afterwards to purchase items for their Thanksgiving celebration. The kids thought it was a blast!

Preschool Thanksgiving Celebration
Kelsey's class put on a mini dinner and performance for the relatives. It was adorable to see the kids dressed up as pilgrims and Native Americans. You could tell Kelsey was nervous as could be but she seemed pretty proud of herself after her performance :)

**Forewarning - its a long video posted mainly for relatives who love watching their grandchildren ;)

Thanksgiving in Longview
We headed down to Longview for Thanksgiving this year. We were so busy eating and enjoying each other's company though that I hardly took any pictures!

Flapjacks

The girls and I entered a contest to get our Halloween "flapjack" into a Recess Monkey video. They were BEYOND thrilled to spot it when the video was released. Check out the bottom right corner around 2:36. As an added bonus we got a free CD from the band as a thank you! We love these guys!

UPDATE: Apparently the video is cut off due to the blog layout so if you want to actually see our pancake...and I know you desperately do ;) you can go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swy8Q9h3vbM to watch it directly

Catching Up - October

School Fun Run
Kelsey's school had a fun run as a fundraiser - it was so adorable to watch the kids out there running their hearts out! They had a water station set up for the kids and a DJ playing music for their 15 minutes of running. Too cute!

Bob's Corn
We took our annual trip to Bob's Corn with Nana and Papa to pick out pumpkins. The girls loved going through the pumpkin patch, taking the hay ride and petting the horses. As did the rest of us :)

Preschool Pumpkin Patch
Kelsey also go to go on the pumpkin patch trip with her preschool. They had lots of animals for the kids to check out, a hay maze and hay ride.

Pumpkin Carving
As you can see from the pictures Josie was full on into the carving. She was burying herself inside the pumpkins in order to get out all of the guts and seeds. Kelsey was happy taking out a couple spoonfuls and calling it good :)

Kelsey's drawing of what she wanted the face to look like and the final product - pretty close!

Halloween
The girls had a blast this year at Halloween. They trick-or-treated around our entire neighborhood as well as up the street at Westcastle. Kelsey probably would have kept going but the rest of us were getting pretty tired and cold. As you can see they had great success!

Supergirl and Rapunzel (yes Kelsey's hair looks green....it was yellow hair dye but for some reason on her hair it looked green. She didn't seem to mind though!)

The neighborhood getting ready

About half of the kids that were out with us just in our neighborhood. It was NUTS!

Tonight, Tonight

One of the girls favorite songs is "Tonight, Tonight" by Hot Chelle Rae. They sing it CONSTANTLY. Here are a few samples from their daily performances :)

Catching Up - September

Eagle Crest - We took our annual trip down to Eagle Crest this year. Lucky for us Nana and Papa were able to come over and join us as well! I think the most exciting part for the girls was the bunk beds and that they got to sleep together. They have been asking for bunk beds ever since :)

First Day of School - Kelsey is in her last year of preschool - sniff sniff! She has switched to Heritage Christian Academy this year and has been loving every minute of it!

Bellingham 1/2 - I signed up for my second 1/2 marathon of the year. I loved the Bellingham one as it was a gorgeous course to run. Though I could have done without the high winds near the end! I'll definitely be doing this one again!

Pearl Jam - Right after my 1/2 marathon, Stacy and I drove up to Vancouver to see Pearl Jam perform. While it made for an exhausting weekend it sure was a blast!

Preschool Skate Night - Kelsey's preschool went roller skating and it was so much fun! The girls both had a blast and were actually quite good for their first time!

This video is from Kelsey's first pair of skates. They had tightened her wheels so much she was basically walking. It was much more entertaining to watch her try to skate once her wheels were a little more rolly :)

Catching Up - August

Birthday Boys - Some of our good friends in the neighborhood have husbands with late August birthdays. We decided to go out and celebrate them all at Salty's on Alki. What a fun evening out!

Woodland Park Zoo - We took Nana and Papa to the zoo on one of their trips. We lucked out and the animals were pretty active considering it was such a sunny day.

Camping - We took the girls on their first camping trip with some good friends from Kelsey's preschool. The girls had a blast! We all can't wait to go back again next year!

Ear Piercing - Kelsey decided this summer that she was brave/tough enough to get her ears pierced. I figured we were safe for a while since she hates pain so much and I'd told her that it hurts. She did awesome though! And so far there isn't a day that goes by that she isn't thrilled to have done it :0

Excited to be getting them pierced

Not so sure about this decision now!

Poor girl!

Candy makes everything better :)

Pool Party - During one of our hot summer days we had a pool party in the backyard with a bunch of our neighbors. We put up our two pools and the slip n slide as well as two of the neighbor's pools. The kids (and Chuck) all had a great time!

Strawberry Picking - I took the girls one day up to Biringer Farms and we picked strawberries. It was a lot of fun - even if I was the one doing most of the picking :)
