The Salmon Are Running! The Salmon Are Running!

We met the Worsley's at Classic Nursery to check out the salmon swimming upstream to spawn. We've been having typical fall weather lately (think raining and getting colder) but Saturday it was gorgeous and 73. What a perfect day!The kids all seemed to have a grand time watching the fish...or Old Mamas as they became known - thanks Jami! :)

First Plants

We haven't purchased any plants for our yard yet as we were trying to come up with a plan. The only idea that I did want to do is to create a vegetable garden on the sunny side of our yard. So far Kelsey and I have already planned out that we're going to plant some lettuce, carrots (she says they're for bunnies and horses...not for us), strawberries and blueberries.

Our old neighbors came to visit us and see the new house last weekend. They recalled that we had some great blueberry bushes at our old place and thought we may like some new ones. They couldn't have picked a better housewarming present!

Kelsey was SO excited to plant the new bushes. She kept thinking though that once she planted them and gave them a little water that they'd sprout some berries shortly after. I keep explaining that it'll be next summer before we get anything on them but she doesn't quite grasp how far out that is since she checks on how they're doing every day. I sure hope the plants make it!

Sucker

Tonight around 12am I was just about ready to head to bed when I heard "MAMA!". It continued over and over and then I heard "Mama, Poop!" So of course I go in to check on her (no poop by the way) and she looks at me, does the sign for eat, points to the door and says "peeeeese?" Who can resist? :)

Crazy Monkey

We have a No Parking sign outside of our house and Kelsey loves climbing up it. She's our crazy little monkey!




Josie of course has to be just like big sis and also tries to climb it. Thankfully she doesn't fully grasp how it works. I give it a couple of months ;)

First Day of School

Today was Kelsey's first day of preschool. She's in the Multi-Age class this year which is for 3-5 year olds and follows the Pre-K curriculum. So far she seems to love it and has a lot of great classmates. Her class has 10 girls and 3 boys so it should be intesting to see the difference in dynamics compared to last year's class. Good thing they added lots of new dress up clothes to the dramatic play room! :)

The Fair

As is now tradition we went to the Evergreen State Fair this summer. We were originally going to go on Chuck's birthday but the weather was so horrible that we held off until later in the week. It turned out to be a gorgeous day. We took Emma (our neighbor and Kelsey's new BFF) and she and Kelsey had a GRAND time. We stayed for 4 hours and I think they could have stayed another hour or two enjoying the rides. Maybe next year :)

By the end of the day the girls were quite daring and even went on the roller coaster - and wanted to go again!

Poor hot and tired girl - Josie wasn't big enough to go on any of the rides so she was relegated to the stroller the entire time. But she was so fascinated by everything she didn't make much of a fuss.


As part of the fair experience we had to play at least one of the games. We let the girls play a fishing game where they had to catch a fish with their net and everyone is guaranteed a prize. I've never paid so much for such a cheap prize in my life ;) But the girls both LOVED their stuffed toys they "won" so that's all that matters!

Blueberries!

I took the girls to Mountainview Blueberry Farm this year and we had a blast! Its a great way to keep the girls occupied for an hour or so, they love the fresh blueberries (which are SO sweet) and its super cheap! My kind of entertainment!

The Backyard

One of the reasons we chose our new house was it came with an actual backyard. The girls have loved running around, playing on the wall, digging in the dirt and having picnics. Now to find plants to fill all the space!


Chuck has loved having space to finally get a shed








The yard is even private enough to eat naked on those 90 degree days ;)

New Address

The delay in posts is due in part to our move. But thanks to Chuck - who was nothing short of amazing - we were moved in an unpacked within about 5 days. So I really have no excuse other than we have just been too busy enjoying our new house! :) We have amazing neighbors, lots of kids for the girls to play with and a great location that seems close to everything! We couldn't feel more fortunate or thrilled with the new house!
