Eagle Crest Part 2

For the second half of our vacation at Eagle Crest we kept it pretty mellow since we knew we were in for a long car ride home. We did venture out to Smith Rock which is famous for its climbing routes. It was beautiful but way too hot when we visited (around 95) so we didn't stay too long. The rest of the time we lounged by the pool, took walks around the resort and visited with the deer. What a wonderful time we all had!

We couldn't believe how tame the deer were - apparently they are fed often!

I think Kelsey believes the deer are pets as she tried to coax them with her hand out like she had food - just like she does with Kona and Riley :)

Smith Rock

The chipmunks at the High Desert Museum were very interested in Kelsey as she'd been eating a granola bar. I think she wanted to take one home!

Family Dinnertime Fun

Kelsey found this to be the funniest thing - watching us make a silly face and then being able to see it on the camera. She wanted to do it every night afterwards :)

Eagle Crest

We're halfway through our vacation at Eagle Crest just outside of Redmond, OR. We're having a great time and have been enjoying all of the amenities! Kelsey has been swimming every day, we've seen deer every evening and have been out and about seeing all the sights we can. And Chuck even managed to slip in a little golf :) The connection here is slow so video uploads aren't working so stay tuned for some cool videos of the wildlife we've been seeing!

Out for a hike on the Deschutes River

All tuckered out from the hike

The golf course was closed for maintenance so we all went out for a bit of a walk on the fairways

Sunset on the course

Daddy stopping by to say hello while he was out playing golf

Kelsey was SOOOO excited to see the deer. We couldn't believe how close they came!

First Day of Preschool

Kelsey started preschool again this week. This year she is in the two-day class where I go with her on Tuesdays and help at the school and on Fridays she goes on her own. I'm sure I'll be there on the first few Fridays but after she gets adjusted to school life again I'm sure she won't miss me at all (sniff, sniff). It took her a few minutes to get warmed up but it didn't take her long to remember where all the cool toys were and all the words and dances to her favorite songs during circle time. We're looking forward to a great year!

Getting ready to leave

Kelsey's cool name tag with last year's school pic...she looks so young!

Right back where she left off....playing with the trains

Tiny Dancer

Today Kelsey started her first dancing class. Its a combo tap and ballet class for two year olds. It is the cutest thing I've ever seen! Kelsey was excited at the idea of dance class but once we had to put on the outfit she wanted NOTHING to do with it. It took a lot of bribery but we made it out the door with our leotard and tights on and our shoes packed. She was pretty clingy for the first half of class which is tap but she warmed up for ballet and really got into it at the end. She even came home and wanted to put her ballet shoes back on!

Ready for class (this is our new camera smile)

Maybe one day another ballerina....but for now we're happy chewing on our hand

Once the teacher broke out the ribbons Kelsey forgot all about needing Mommy close by!

Enjoying a ballerina treat after class - whole milk and a scone :)

Run Mommy, Run!

This weekend I ran a 5k through Iron Girl with my good friend Tessa. We started training about five weeks ago when we discovered the race. We both have not ran in quite some time and were a little slow going. But we worked through the pain of getting our muscles and joints used to running again and we managed to run the entire time! We ran a little over 10 minute miles and finished 460 and 462 out of 1,277 in the 5k. Not too bad!

Our fans waiting to cheer us on

Are we there yet?

Off we go!

We did it!!
