Birthday Party

We finally had Josie's birthday party at the house last week and she had a great time! While most of the people who were able to make it are more Kelsey's friends Josie was quite happy to be hanging with the big kids for a day. Chase and Josie kept each other company eating for a majority of the party too. Gotta feed those growing babies!

Kelsey wanted to have the "big kids" table set just so for when guests arrived and she was not happy that Josie kept trying to "help"

Cake round two

I think she likes it! :)

Hot Weather Fun

We went from 50 degree weather to 80+ degree weather in one week. Needless to say we were a bit hot! So we broke out all the water toys!

Playing in Tehya's pool

Kelsey didn't like the sprinkler being turned up so high so she broke out the umbrella for protection :)

Josie LOVES the water table! If only there was a way to keep her from trying to drink the water since it gets so dirty from her putting everything in it!

Princesses and Ice Cream

On one of our first nice weeks of summer I watched Jami's kids for her. The Chase and Josie slept most of the time while the girls had a grand time playing princesses. The ice cream man made the rounds in our neighborhood so I decided to let the girls get some fun treats.

Glad I made them go out on the deck - check out the drips!

Even poor Chase got involved in the princess play :)

Fourth of July

We spent another wonderful fourth of July with the Worsleys and Blacks up on Whidbey. The weather wasn't too great for most of the day but it never rained on us so we consider it a good holiday :) This was Josie's first time on the beach and oh how she loved it! All of the kids had a grand time playing in the sand, collecting beach treasures and enjoying the day. Kelsey still isn't a fan of the fireworks so she only stayed to watch a couple and then headed inside with her S'mores to watch Finding Nemo. Claire decided to head inside with her too and the two of them cuddled up on the couch perfectly happy. Its so fun to watch the kids develop such close friendships and share similar experiences that Jami and I did growing up. I hope these traditions continue on for them as they have for me!

First S'mores - she's STILL talking about them!

ONE!?!

How did my baby girl get to be one year old already? I cannot believe its been a year since her birth. Josie has been such a sweet and happy baby that its been an easy transition (for the most part) to having two kiddos running around. Makes me almost want a third. Almost ;)

Josie has been busy over the past month learning how to climb, stand more on her own, figuring out how to stand up from a sitting position, and today (7/7) she took her first steps! Stay tuned for a video (once I have the camera ready when she does it!)

For her actual birthday Kelsey and I took Josie for her first trip to the Everett Children's Museum. She had a blast! The water table was by far her favorite. There was a lot of screaming when I had to pull her away ;) That evening we just celebrated with her favorite dinner of mac and cheese and followed up by cupcakes. She loved the cupcake at first but then decided that it was more fun to just smash it into a million bits.

Favorite dinner of homemade mac and cheese (she had four servings!) and corn on the cob

What's left of the cupcake :)

The birthday girl in her birthday suit and very excited for a bath!

First Bike

Kelsey has been asking for a new bike ever since we went riding with her friends Abi, Regen and Claire. I found one in a consignment store for only $18 (free after I'd traded in some old toys!) and she is THRILLED! She wants to ride her bike all of the time! Now if we could just find her helmet buried in the garage so she could ;)

6 Years!

This weekend Chuck and I celebrated 6 years of marriage. We took the kids up to Whidbey Island to see Fort Casey. Kelsey had a blast exploring and flying her kite while Josie had a grand time trying to eat everything ;) I think she would have titled this blog Taste of Whidbey.

I love Kelsey trying to figure out how to keep her kite up. She knows to run - just not which way :) She figured it out right as this video ends - unfortunately I ran out of memory on our camera so I missed getting it

Mmmmmm...rock

Oooooo...dandelion

That camera looks tasty - can I try?

We're leaving so soon? But I didn't get to taste the seaweed!

Trouble

Beans

Josie's first experience with refried beans started out messy...

...and just got messier!

Needless to say - this dinner ended with a bath!
