Last night Kelsey had her sleep study to determine whether or not she has sleep apnea. For over a year Chuck and I have noticed her gasping for air when sleeping (a common symptom of apnea). She also has many other common symptoms such as waking up extremely sweaty, low weight gain, and snoring. It was horrible to watch (and help) my little girl get hooked up to at least 20 wires screaming at the top of her lungs the whole time. But she was very brave and left everything alone once it was on. She actually slept most of the night only waking up a couple of times.
I'm torn on if I want the results to come back as positive or negative. I'm hoping for positive just so I didn't put her through this experience for nothing. But I'm hoping for negative so we don't have to do any corrective surgery or use a c-pap machine. Either way we have to wait a month before we get results.
As a distraction tactic I told Kelsey we'd document our "fun" sleep study with our cameras. Here are a few pictures from our adventure.

Off we go!

Coloring in the waiting room

Documenting changing into PJs

All dressed and ready to get wired up

The end result - I don't know how anyone can sleep with this on but she was asleep within 15 minutes of this picture.

Hooray! All done!

A special Starbucks treat for the very brave girl!

Sound asleep by 10:30am - usually its a fight to get her to nap before 1pm :)
