EKELSY

Kelsey's latest obsession is writing letters. Particularly K's (she thinks the K is her full name since we always say "K for Kelsey"). I was telling her how to actually spell her name and she wrote down all of the letters and got them mostly in order. She seemed baffled why I told her to add a second E and so she decided to add it to the start of her name. :)

(Sorry for the blurry picture but I couldn't get it to take a good shot with the flash on. Since the flash was off, any little movement made it blurry)

Lesson Learned

Never leave a 10 month old alone in their car seat with a teething biscuit...unless you don't mind a huge mess to clean up :)

Trip to Oregon

For Mother's Day weekend we headed down to Oregon to visit my parents. We had quite a fun and relaxing visit. We were a little worried how the girls would do sleeping wise as Josie has never done great in the pack n play and Kelsey was going to use her sleeping bag to sleep in Nana and Papa's room. Much to our surprise Josie did great after the first night and Kelsey did awesome as well. The girls even took their naps with no problems. I guess Nana and Papa's house is exhausting ;) Since they were sleeping so well, Chuck and I even got to go out on a date night. Sadly we were back home by 10:30 since we are apparently so old we can no longer stay awake too late ;) But it was still great to get out sans kids!

Josie's Turn

Poor Kelsey has been getting all the blog attention lately so I thought I'd update everyone on Josie for a change :) Josie has discovered clapping but I'm not certain if she's actually meaning to clap or if this is her sign for "more" as she only does it when she's eating. Only time will tell :) Kona has become her best friend since she now is the "messy" eater. Josie loves to eat "real" food like chicken, cheese, most any fruit and cheerios. She's still skeptical of veggies - fresh, frozen, canned or jarred. Hopefully one day she gets over it!

She's really mastered crawling and is now getting into EVERYthing. Her favorites are the dog dishes, recycle and the laundry room where the cat box and cat dishes are. She also love to pull up on the toilets. Why do kids go for the dirtiest things in the house?? She has just recently discovered how to climb up the stairs as well as how to use the walking toys. Josie turns ten months on Sunday - I can't wait to see what it brings!

A girl and her vacuum :) Kona noticed that Josie had gotten the lid off her cheerios and plopped herself right by her in case an opportunity arose to sneak a snack.

Sleep Study Update

For those of you who follow this blog I figured I'd update everyone on the sleep study. It was determined that Kelsey has borderline apnea. So at this point she doesn't have to do any c-pap machine or surgery thankfully. Since apnea tends to inflame the sinuses they put her on Singulair which is typically used for asthma and allergies. She takes it every night before bed and so far its been working wonders! She sleeps through the night more often than not and we haven't noticed her coughing or gasping at all. Hopefully this will be just a temporary solution and she doesn't have to stay on it for a long period of time. But for now our little girl is finally getting the good sleep she needs!

K is for Kelsey

Kelsey decided to start writing Ks this week and loves to practice on my arm. She's getting pretty good!

Go Elks!

Last weekend we went to visit Chuck's family in Longview. We were lucky enough to visit on a day that our nephew Rylee had a baseball game. This was Kelsey's first game and she loved it! Rylee and team did great and pulled out a win. Way to go Elks!

Happy Easter!

Kelsey really enjoyed Easter this year! She LOVED hunting for eggs and was rather disappointed that there weren't more to find (sorry kiddo - they're packed in moving boxes!) After our fun at home we headed to our cousin Victoria and Leland's house for more Easter and some birthday celebration.

Rock Stars

We have turned into quite the musical household lately. We often put on concerts with our piano and new guitar. I guess Josie felt her rattles weren't enough of a contribution so she's picked up kazoo-ing :)
